Valorant kicked off Episode 3 with a cinematic teaser called "Anthem of Year 1," subtly hinting at the mysterious Agent codenamed Deadeye. While Riot hasn't officially named the agent yet, they've shared key insights into this upcoming addition.
In the latest "State of the Agent" blog post, character producer John Goscicki confirmed that Valorant's next agent, Agent 17, will join the Sentinel class.
"We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster. We won't reveal much more, just know that once you achieve this dream moment, it will be magnificent," Goscicki shared.
Riot has emphasized that this Sentinel could challenge Jett's dominance with the Operator, potentially reshaping competitive play. Jett has long ruled the Operator meta, but Agent 17 might finally provide a strong counter.
Earlier speculation positioned Agent 17 as a Sova counterpart. This reveal ties into Valorant's rich lore, building on the mirror-world concepts introduced in the Duality cinematic during VCT and expanded throughout Episode 3's launch.
