Reliable leaker Mike from the ValorLeaks Twitter account first hinted at Yoru's overhaul, suggesting it would launch in patch 4.03. Riot developer Coleman "Altombre" Palm later confirmed the release window, building excitement among players.
"Sulfur. Something happened at S-22, I was walking back to the battleship again… when I felt something… different… the dimensional fabric was weaker there, older… I could feel seams that were gone a long time ago and then…I fell…into a space that wasn't just A to B, I felt like I was from now to then…I advanced as far as I could go. And... Brimstone... I heard someone... Calling me... I didn't have time to answer before the rift closed but I swear I knew his voice."
S-22 refers to the Icebox map, which ties deeply into Yoru's lore from his introduction. The rift appears to have transported him through time, where he heard a familiar voice—likely an ancestor calling out.
Speculation points to Yoru reconnecting with this voice, unlocking more of his ancestry and enhancing his radianite abilities.
