Viper has been a dominant force since her major buff, prompting Riot to introduce several nerfs across patches to maintain balance. However, a widespread exploit emerged—a bug that many players treated as an unintended buff. Viper's Pit was deploying at the cursor placement point instead of around her position.

Riot clarified this as a bug, not a feature, and fixed it in this patch. "Okay, so this is technically a bug fix, but it changes how Viper's Pit is deployed. We accidentally sent a bug in 3.01 that caused her ultimate to appear on her placement reticle instead of around her. We know a lot of core Viper players thought this was an intentional buff and may not be happy with this return—we're so sorry to hurt you all," Riot explained.
This patch focuses on balance restoration and fixes for exploitable agents like Viper and Operator issues. Yoru, Valorant's fifth Duelist, has struggled to shine since launch, remaining a niche pick even at pro levels.

Character producer John Goscicki shared: "Hi everyone, I want to talk about the Yoru changes we were hoping to get by 3.02. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the team is going to have to delay Yoru updates indefinitely. We are currently in a situation where some of the resources needed to do this work are not available to us. As soon as we have a clearer idea of when we can ship these changes, you'll be the first to know. Sincere apologies to all who were looking forward to them."

While not a massive overhaul, this update ensures fair play by addressing key bugs.
