Battle Royale sensation PUBG from Krafton is reportedly getting a sequel, PUBG 2, slated for release next year (2022) based on credible leaks. It will launch initially on PC.
PUBG Mobile remains one of the top battle royale titles, consistently ranking among the highest-grossing mobile games. It has dominated esports in multiple countries, setting lofty community standards. Despite bans in India last year and Bangladesh this year, it continues to generate substantial revenue. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) emerged as a replacement in India, but hackers have frustrated players amid high anticipation.
A fresh PUBG title, PUBG: New State, launches soon, exciting fans with its innovations.

While players enjoy various PUBG versions, the PC edition has lost popularity, with player counts dropping significantly. Streamer Shroud noted that only a new sequel could revive it, citing ongoing issues with the current game.
Leakster PlayerIGN reports Krafton hiring a Technical Art Director and Technical Animator for an unannounced Unreal Engine 5 project. Data suggests this is PUBG 2 in development. Per Alt Char, it will be a standalone title, not an upgrade.

The leaker indicates Krafton discussed upgrading PUBG to Unreal Engine 5. They're seeking talent to collaborate with the Art Director, Game Director, and Producer. References to "X1," a work-in-progress, hint at PUBG 2 leveraging Nvidia's latest graphics tech. PUBG: New State targets mobile only and isn't the sequel.
No official PC or console announcement followed New State's reveal, but ports could follow. Take these details with caution until developers confirm. PUBG: New State, from PUBG Corporation and Krafton, is set in 2051 with advanced vehicles and procedural landscapes.
