How to Easily Reorder Apps on Your Android TV Home Screen

Android TV powers top streaming devices like the Nvidia Shield, offering a seamless way to enjoy apps and Kodi on your big screen. Once you've installed your apps and added them to the home screen, rearranging them is simple—a feature available since 2016.

How to Reorder Apps on Android TV

1. Turn on your device and wait until the home screen appears.
2. Scroll down and select Settings.
3. Go to Preferences.
4. Choose Home screen.
5. Select Apps and games rows.
6. Choose either Reorder apps in row or Reorder games row.
7. It will return to the corresponding row with the background dimmed.
8. Use your remote: the Select button selects or deselects an app, while directional buttons move the selected app left or right.

Alternatively, go to Settings > Preferences > Home screen > Apps & games rows and toggle the switch next to Auto-sort by recent use.
