As a Roku power user with years of experience optimizing streaming setups, I've seen how frustrating it can be when your home screen theme suddenly shifts to promote a movie or sports event. Roku devices are user-friendly, but these automatic changes can disrupt your preferred look. Fortunately, there's a straightforward fix.
To prevent this, navigate to your Roku home screen, then go to Settings > Theme > Customize theme. Ensure Featured Themes is disabled. This stops automatic updates while keeping your screen stable.
If a change has already occurred, simply select your original theme from the list to revert it manually.
Prefer a unique touch? Roku offers a selection of custom themes. Install them via two easy methods:
1. From the home screen, select Streaming Channels, search for "themes," and add them like any channel.
2. Or, go to Settings > Theme, and scroll to Get more themes at the bottom.
To remove a theme, highlight it in your list, press the Options button (*), and choose remove.
Note: Only three themes are free; others range from $0.99 to $2.99 each.
