If you're subscribed to Xbox Game Pass for PC, note the upcoming price adjustment. Microsoft has announced the subscription will increase from $4.99/month to $9.99/month.
This update was shared via the official @XboxGamePassPC Twitter account. Starting September 17, 2020, new and renewing subscribers will pay the new rate to access the full Game Pass library for PC.
The original $4.99/month was an introductory offer to onboard users during the beta phase. With general availability now live, it's transitioning to the standard $9.99/month price. Existing subscribers will continue at $4.99 until their next billing cycle.
Microsoft is enhancing the value: EA Play has recently joined the Game Pass library, expanding the game selection significantly. Note that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate pricing remains unchanged and includes PC access, making it worth considering an upgrade.
This price shift aligns with exiting beta status, not an attempt to exploit fans. Paired with EA Play integration, Game Pass delivers exceptional value amid a growing library.
Future partnerships could further boost its appeal, especially ahead of Xbox Series X launch. For PC gamers, it's still one of the best subscription services available.
