Google has launched Fundo, a innovative platform empowering creators to host paid online events and connect directly with fans.
With Fundo, fans can join live sessions where creators chat, cook, dance, and more—creating genuine, interactive experiences.
Fundo originates from Area 120, Google's incubator for experimental projects. After a year in beta with hundreds of testers, it's now publicly available in the US and Canada.
Designed for video creators like those on YouTube, Fundo enables hosting intimate events such as one-on-one chats, meet-and-greets, and workshops—with up to 30 participants on screen at once.
Initially built for quick fan chats and virtual photos with designers (mimicking real-world meetups), it evolved during beta to include cooking tutorials and fitness classes, boosted by pandemic-driven demand.
While aiming to draw YouTube talent, Fundo CEO John Gregg emphasizes it's open to all creators: "not exclusive to YouTube" and offers value to diverse content makers.
Browse events and creators on the Fundo website. Sign in with your Google account or phone number for a new account.
Creators set ticket prices (or offer free events) with limited seats. Google takes a 20% revenue share.
Everything—ticketing, video chats—happens seamlessly on the Fundo platform, no extra apps required.
Currently US- and Canada-only, with global expansion planned.
Though developed pre-pandemic, Fundo arrives at an ideal moment for indoor entertainment. Fill your calendar with engaging virtual events today.
