One of the simplest ways to share books for free is lending your Kindle purchases to friends. Amazon allows you to lend any eligible book you own for up to 14 days. It's perfect for letting friends try new titles without cost, as long as they finish in time.

Note: While the book is lent, you can't access it. Each title can only be lent once per purchase, so choose recipients wisely.

To lend: Visit the book's Amazon page (search in the Kindle Store if needed). Click Buy for others or look for the Lend this book option. Enter your friend's email and an optional note, then hit Send Now.

Your friend receives an email with instructions. They click Get your borrowed book, sign into their Amazon account, select a device (Kindle or Fire), or download the free app via Accept Borrowed Book. Should You Buy a Kindle or Use the Free App?

To return early: Go to Manage Your Content and Devices, select the book, click Actions, choose Remove from Library, and confirm.
