The 10-episode first season climaxes with John B. wrongly accused of killing Ward's father. The finale shows him and his girlfriend fleeing on a boat, pursued by police.
Netflix greenlit Season 2 just months after the April 2020 debut, announcing it in July. On April 8, Netflix France's Twitter confirmed production had wrapped on Outer Banks Season 2.
