Warrior Nun, does that speak to you? This fantastic series was released on Netflix in July 2020. Adapted from a comic published in 1994, it features ninja nuns fighting demons. Just that... There is also talk of a conspiracy fomented in the Vatican. Hailed by critics, it remained on the podium of the most viewed series on the platform for several weeks. Good news for fans:the series is back with a second season.
The first season of Warrior Nun, created by Simon Barry, had 10 episodes. An episode lasted 45 minutes on average, ranging from 37 to 50 minutes each.
This first season follows the story of Ava Silva. A 19-year-old orphan, paraplegic following a car accident that killed her mother. She continued to suffer abuse in the orphanage in which she was placed, until her death.
Ava's death however, only marks the beginning of her adventures as she then wakes up in the morgue. A nun belonging to an Ancient Order of nuns has indeed placed an artifact on Ava's back, allowing her to resurrect.
Not only is Ava resurrected, but she can now walk again! She also has super powers. Our young protagonist quickly discovers that she has been implanted with the Halo, which should motivate her to join the Order of Nuns. All these nuns are united in a sect to fight the demons. This struggle has been going on for centuries and Ava must join the nuns' troupe in their war against the forces of darkness …
Skillfully mixing science fiction, fantasy, action and drama, the first season of Warrior Non offered us some great sequences! Very graphic, the series took up the codes of the comics that inspired it. The atmosphere could at times recall that of Da Vinci Code , with a medieval sect, old mythologies…
Warrior Nun Season 1 was a large success at its output ! Less than a month and a half after its appearance on Netflix, the streaming platform officially announced that the series will return for a new season.
An announcement to say the least... original! Netflix has indeed brought together all the main actors of season 1 to announce them live that the series was renewed. To their great surprise! They weren't expecting it at all. We let you admire their reaction:
Netflix has always been very good at communication! The American firm has already used this technique to announce the renewal of its series. This was the case for example for Control Z and Outer Banks . The reaction of the actors had also been broadcast on Twitter by the platform.

Adriel's exposition reveals the true purpose of the Cruciform Sword. We learn that the Order is actually a simple puppet that Adriel uses against the celestial forces. The first knights of the Order granted him the status of an angel because he slew the demon Tarask, who had followed him beyond the time portal. Once he escapes from the Vatican tomb, Adriel attempts to get his hands on the Order's halo and continues with his evil plans. We also discover that Vincent is ultimately a servant of Adriel.
We really hope that season 2 will reveal as many secrets about the Order than the first season! We should find Ava and the religious sect waging a bloody war against the fallen angel. To carry out her new missions, Ava should also continue to develop her powers. The more her skills increase, the more she will become a fearsome adversary against the demonic forces of Adriel. We also wish a season again rich in action!
