Apple TV+ Extends Free Subscriptions for Eligible Members Through Tough Winter

Apple is rewarding many Apple TV+ subscribers with free extension months, ensuring continued access to premium streaming content.

Are You Eligible for a Free Apple TV+ Extension?

As first reported by TechCrunch, Apple is providing subscription extensions to numerous existing Apple TV+ customers.

At launch, eligible Apple device purchases included a free one-year Apple TV+ subscription. If you claimed this offer, your subscription likely expires in November. Apple is now extending these through January 31, 2021, pushing the next billing date to February 2021 for those ending between November 1, 2020, and January 31, 2021.

Apple explains this support recognizes "a tough winter ahead filled with COVID-related restrictions," keeping users entertained as indoor time increases and cinematic releases shift.

This also bolsters Apple TV+ subscriber retention, potentially encouraging renewals beyond February.

Monthly Apple TV+ Subscribers Get Free Credits Too

Monthly plan users aren't left out. If your subscription began before November 1, 2020, you'll receive a $4.99 credit for November, December, and January. Credits apply automatically to active accounts with no pending activations.

Eligible customers on annual or monthly plans will get an email confirming details.

Apple continues its promotion: a free one-year subscription with eligible device purchases.

Is Apple TV+ Worth It?

Apple TV+ launched with mixed reviews for titles like The Morning Show, despite star power, and a limited library.

Since then, it has matured significantly, delivering compelling originals. Favorites like Dickinson return for season two, alongside new nature documentaries expanding the lineup.
