Netflix has long been absent from Facebook's Portal lineup since launch. That changes today: Facebook announced Netflix support for all Portal TV devices worldwide.
The Facebook Portal is a smart display optimized for video calls. Its intelligent camera automatically pans, zooms, and adjusts the view as people move around the room or join the conversation.
Available in multiple models, Portal TV connects to your TV and integrates Alexa, AR effects, and WhatsApp calling.
Portal TV debuted in November 2019 with streaming support for Amazon Prime Video, Showtime, and Sling—but Netflix was conspicuously missing.
As detailed on the Facebook News Blog, Netflix is now live on Portal TV across all available markets.
If the app isn't visible, head to settings and check for updates manually. Log in with your Netflix account to start watching instantly.
This follows Amazon adding Netflix to Echo Show devices and its July rollout on Google Nest Hub.
Netflix is aggressively expanding to every major smart platform.
Facebook launched a updated remote with dedicated buttons for Prime Video, Facebook Watch, and Netflix.
Stream Netflix effortlessly: grab the remote and press the button.
It ships right away with Portal TV from Facebook's store; other retailers follow in coming weeks.
Netflix support plugs a gap but won't sway buyers—it's already on most smart TVs.
Still, it's a solid update. Privacy concerns with Facebook devices remain the real hurdle.
