If you own a Google Assistant-enabled smart display like the Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max, you can now enjoy Disney+ content streaming directly to it.
To celebrate, pair it with a Mickey Mouse stand for your Google Home or Nest Mini, giving it an iconic Disney makeover.
As announced on The Keyword, Google's blog, Disney+ is now fully integrated with Google Assistant smart displays. This includes Google devices like the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max, as well as third-party options from Lenovo and JBL.
The rollout is live in the United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Additional regions will follow soon.
Before this update, Disney+ viewing on these displays required casting from a mobile device.
Getting started is simple: link your Disney+ account via the Google Home or Assistant app. Then, use voice commands—say, "Ok Google, play Mulan on Disney+" to start the live-action remake. Gesture controls let you browse, though touchscreen navigation isn't supported yet (unlike Netflix, which added it in July).
In honor of the integration, Google partnered with OtterBox for a Mickey Mouse Basic Accessory designed for Google Home and Nest Mini. This clip-on stand from the OtterBox Den Series attaches to the base, showcasing your Disney fandom.
While watching on a compact screen may not suit everyone, this integration bolsters Google's smart displays against rivals like the Facebook Portal, expanding entertainment options for users worldwide.
