Google Assistant Expands to Samsung 2020 Smart TVs in 12 Countries This Year

Google continues to broaden the reach of Google Assistant across devices. Samsung has announced that select 2020 Smart TV models will gain Google Assistant support starting late this year, joining Amazon Alexa and Bixby as built-in voice options.

On Samsung TVs, Google Assistant delivers the full range of capabilities found on devices like Google Nest speakers. Use voice commands to change channels, adjust volume, control playback, launch apps, and more. It also integrates with your smart home setup, delivers weather updates, and accesses Google services including search, photos, maps, and calendar.

To enable Google Assistant, navigate to Settings > General > Voice > Voice Assistant, then select Google Assistant, Alexa, or Bixby.

When and Where Is Google Assistant Coming to Samsung TVs?

This update covers all 2020 QLED 4K and 8K TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace models.

Google Assistant is now live in the UK, France, Germany, and Italy, with rollout planned for 12 additional countries including Spain, Brazil, India, and South Korea.

In the US, it became available last month, so 2020 Samsung TV owners there can already use it.
