Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Sign Multi-Year Netflix Deal for Exclusive Content

Netflix has secured a multi-year partnership with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, enabling their production company to develop exclusive content for the platform.

What Content Will They Produce for Netflix?

As first reported by The New York Times, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will create films, documentaries, scripted series, and children's programming through their yet-unnamed company.

Current projects include an animated series celebrating inspiring women and a nature documentary series.

Per Variety, the couple explored deals with NBCUniversal, Disney, and Apple before Netflix prevailed.

In a joint statement, the couple shared their excitement for the collaboration. They stepped back from the British Royal Family in March 2020, achieving financial independence and relocating to California.

Their charitable foundation, Archewell, operates separately from this venture.

Prior Experience in TV and Streaming

This marks their first foray into producing films or TV shows, though both have streaming credits. Meghan rose to fame in Suits, later voicing a character in Disney+'s Elephant. Harry features in Netflix's Rising Phoenix, a Paralympics documentary.

While not starring in all projects, Netflix will prominently feature their involvement.

Netflix's Royal Connections

Harry and Meghan are the first royals to partner directly with Netflix, but the service boasts royal-themed hits like The Crown, chronicling Queen Elizabeth II's life—Harry's grandmother.
