James Yang, Tencent's Director of PUBG Mobile Esports, announced plans to grow the Battle Royale esports ecosystem through PUBG Mobile Esports 2.0. The focus shifts toward amateur and semi-professional players to build a stronger foundation.
The roadmap introduces PMNC (PUBG Mobile National Championship) and Regional Cups as direct pathways to the PMPL (PUBG Mobile Pro League). Unlike the prior format with two annual PMCO events (Spring and Fall), these will occur once per year.

Aimed at semi-pro and amateur talent, these events complement the professional PMPL Spring and Fall seasons. Top-tier tournaments will also provide spots for PMNC standouts, eliminating the wait for PMCO qualification.

PUBG Mobile is an official medal event at the 22nd Asian Games in September 2022, where pro teams from across Asia can represent their nations. It's also featured at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam from May 13-22, 2022.

James Yang confirmed that 2022 prize pools will exceed last year's, building on the $6 million CMGP 2021 pool for even more exciting competitions.
