Valiant players will not be able to settle in future acts

Riot Games, developer and publisher of First Person Shooter VALORANT, works against "installation". According to a reliable leak, Cascade Picking is Riot's response to players locking their agent instantly to the agent-selected Twitter account @ValorLeaks revealed would be similar to Riot Games' other IP, League of Legends.

Valorant Updates:

Cascading selection seems to work "the first person has about 15-20 seconds to choose the first agent, then the next person, then the next". This effectively prevents players from locking their agent without worrying about the comp.

While it sounds like a great idea on paper, the VALORANT player base has mixed opinions about this change in Agent selection. Some say it would encourage communication and better team composition. Cascading selection, ideally, would lead to more synergy around a team's five Agents rather than having, say, five Duelists.

Others see this as a new pathway for toxicity. Players can "hold their team hostage" or threaten them with the "I'll feed if I can't play that agent" angle. Players who complain about their teammates settling will see this change as welcome regardless.

Since only the concept was leaked, it's unclear if Riot has a mechanism in place to address negativity in agent selection. Nevertheless, it is still very difficult to put down the hammer of VALORANT answer against instalocks. Players will just have to wait for the update to ship and see for themselves. Cascade Picking is apparently on the EP 4 update. The development livestream for EP 4 will hopefully reveal more details. Coincidentally, the Neon quickster also comes with this update.
