Fortnite's latest hotfix from Epic Games introduces Shield Kegs, a game-changing addition to Chapter 3. These patches bring fresh features beyond seasonal updates, and the Shield Keg stands out as a must-have for survival.
Shield Kegs function like a deployable shield fountain, restoring shields over time for you and your squad. Throw one down to create a healing zone that can turn the tide in intense battles.

As a leading battle royale title from Epic Games with a massive global player base, Fortnite continually evolves. The Shield Keg builds on items like the Med-Mist from patch 19.00, but focuses on shields.
"You can vaporize a Med-Mist to restore health or that of your allies. With the new Shield Keg, throw it to restore your entire team's shields! This shield fountain spurts longer than long enough to restore a player's shield from 0 to 100. But be careful where you throw one, as it can also restore enemy shields," notes the official blog.
Place it on the ground to generate a shield-restoring mist. It's available from Chests, Supply Drops, Floor Loot, and purchasable from Lt. John Llama or Scientist NPCs using Gold Bars.

Once activated, it restores 2 shields every 0.40 seconds for a 30-second duration, totaling 150 shields. It's a one-time use item, so deploy strategically.
The simplest way to acquire one? Visit Lt. John Llama or a Scientist NPC with sufficient Gold Bars for a reliable purchase.
