Call of Duty: Warzone Has Banned Over 500,000 Cheaters Since Launch

Call of Duty: Warzone has now banned more than 500,000 accounts for cheating since its 2020 launch, according to co-developer Raven Software. This milestone follows a recent wave that took down 30,000 additional malicious accounts.

Raven Software hasn't detailed whether these figures span all platforms or specified the exact cheating methods involved. What’s clear, however, is their commitment to maintaining a fair playing field by holding cheaters accountable.

On Twitter, Raven shared that the latest bans pushed their total past "over half a million accounts." Player responses highlighted concerns over wrongful bans, with some claiming their accounts were compromised by hackers.

Call of Duty: Warzone Has Banned Over 500,000 Cheaters Since Launch

Since debuting in 2020, Warzone has faced persistent cheating issues familiar to Call of Duty players. Raven and Activision have responded with ongoing updates to anti-cheat systems, making it harder for cheaters and cheat providers to operate.

In October 2020, an anti-cheat update led to over 200,000 bans targeting sophisticated "engineered" cheats, with totals nearing 300,000 by February 2021. Today, across all platforms, more than 500,000 accounts have been permanently removed.

Raven has pledged to keep Warzone "clean," implementing daily ban waves, targeting cheat markets, and blocking evasive alt accounts.
