The Peace Elite Championship 2021 (PEC), the world championship for Peacekeeper Elite—China's official version of PUBG Mobile—has been postponed amid ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. This follows last year's event, with organizers prioritizing safety for players, staff, and fans.
Scheduled for July 31 at Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena with a massive $1.9 million (12 million yuan) prize pool, the tournament will now take place on a new date to be announced soon.

"We have put in a lot of effort, hoping to allow more spectators to witness the competitive showdown of the world's elite on the highest arena of international competition. However, in view of the current global epidemic situation, in order to support and cooperate with epidemic prevention and control work at home and abroad, and to protect the health and safety of every participant and audience, after various considerations from the organizer, we regret to announce that the original plan was to take place on July 31," the organizers stated.

The PEC Peace Elite International Champions Cup, planned across multiple domestic and international venues, is deferred. "The time and location of the event will be announced separately. Please stay tuned for official follow-up news." Tencent's decision underscores their commitment to public health amid the pandemic.

This marks the third season of PEC. Unlike prior years, it was set for mid-year on July 31 and August 1. Organizers have yet to reveal the rescheduled date but promise updates shortly.

Instead, on July 31 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, the Peace Elite Super Cup and Airdrop Carnival (Peace Elite Super Cup 2021) will proceed as a local event.
