Following an animation tweak to Gamora's The Godslayer pickaxe in Fortnite, Epic Games is allowing players to return the Marvel-themed harvesting tool at no cost.
Fortnite's latest Marvel collaboration introduced Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy, complete with her comic-accurate outfit, cape, glider, and The Godslayer sword pickaxe.
Initially, The Godslayer didn't swing like a traditional sword—instead, it mimicked Thor's Mjolnir, tossed one-handed between grips. Epic Games has updated it to a proper two-handed broadsword swing in the v17.50 patch (August 31, 2021). To address player feedback, owners prior to the update can now refund it without using a return ticket.
On September 1, Epic Games tweeted: "Due to a change in the animation of the pickaxe 'The Godslayer', all players who own it before the v17.50 update (August 31, 2021) will be able to make this item without using a return ticket."
Fortnite provides up to three refunds for eligible bundles or items. Since this is an official change, pre-update owners qualify without spending a ticket—but act fast, as you have 30 days from your next login.
Note: Refunding from the full Gamora bundle may forfeit the set discount. Standalone Godslayer purchases (800 V-Bucks) yield a full refund.
