Plex adds Spanish-language channels to its live TV offering

Plex is adding a range of Spanish-language live channels to its media streaming platform, aiming to appeal to a more diverse audience.

Six channels are launching immediately, with 25 more channels coming in the coming weeks.

Spanish channels are coming to Plex

Recently, Plex launched free live TV for everyone. Supported by advertisements, these 80 channels offer news, travel, movies and more.

While these channels are excellent, their appeal is limited by the fact that they are all in English. To change this, as announced on the Plex Blog, Plex is introducing many Spanish language channels.

The channels come from providers such as Sony Canal, Latido Music, Canela.tv and Runtime Español.

Everything will be free, though the new additions are only available to Plex users in the US.

As with other live TV channels, Spanish content can be watched on all regular Plex devices such as Roku, Apple TV, Android, iOS and smart TVs.

What will be available to watch?

Plex will eventually have 31 Spanish-language channels to choose from. It's a lot to watch and there should be something for everyone.

Comedy fans can enjoy the Sony Comedias channel, which airs shows like Casados con Hijos (Married with Children), La Niñera (The Nanny), and Mi Bella Genio (I Dream of Jeannie).

The Latido Music Channel features 24-hour music videos, live performances, interviews, and everything you need to party and dance.

Elsewhere, if those classic Spanish-language telenovelas are more to your liking, shows like Doña Barbara, Señorita Pólvora and Paraíso Travel will satisfy your appetite.

Moviegoers can watch award-winning films and documentaries dubbed into Spanish for free, as well as native language films like Ma Ma by Penélope Cruz or the superbly animated Chico and Rita.

That's just the tip of the iceberg – there are also reality shows, sitcoms, trivia, funny music videos and more.

There is a lot of free content on Plex

For cord cutters, Plex is a great choice. In fact, the service offers so much free content that you'll probably never need to subscribe to the paid Plex Pass service.
