Les Tuche 4 Hits Theaters December 8: Director Teases Tuche 5 Sequel with One Key Condition

Although Les Tuche 4 won't arrive in theaters until December 8, director Olivier Baroux has already teased a potential sequel.

A bona fide cult favorite, Jean-Paul Rouve's Tuche family returns to the big screen this December with the fourth chapter in their hilarious saga. A decade after the original film's debut, the series remains a massive hit. Yet Baroux is eyeing a fifth installment—provided certain conditions are met.

The Tuche 5?

According to BFM journalist Claire Fleury, Baroux is determined to extend the Tuche franchise beyond the upcoming fourth film, set for December 8. This latest entry follows Jeff Tuche, who steps down as President of the Republic to return to his roots in Bouzolles.

The groundwork for a fifth film is already in place: "We came up with an idea a month ago—one we love, utterly wild and crazy. We checked with the entire team to gauge interest, shared the story with the actors, and they said, 'OK, yeah.'" Filming could begin in spring 2023, with a possible release in February 2024.

Only One Condition

However, Tuche 5 isn't a sure thing. For Isabelle Nanty and the cast to reprise their roles, Les Tuche 4 must succeed at the box office. Post-pandemic challenges could impact turnout, potentially ending the family's cinematic adventures.
