Peacock Introduces Offline Downloads for Premium Plus Subscribers

NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming service launched nationwide in July 2020, but it lacked one essential feature: offline viewing—until now.

The company has rolled out the ability to download select shows for later viewing on its platform.

How Does Offline Viewing Work on Peacock?

Premium Plus subscribers can now download eligible shows directly to their iOS or Android devices. This long-awaited feature, in development since launch, allows uninterrupted viewing without an internet connection.

Plan ahead by downloading content before travel. Note that an hour-long episode requires about 500MB of storage space.

The update was first reported by The Streamable.

Per Peacock's sign-up page, downloads are limited to "selected shows," with no full catalog details provided.

To download, visit the show's page and tap the Download button. Content queues up and downloads once space is available. Manage everything on the dedicated Downloads page.

Is Offline Viewing Available for All Peacock Users?

No, this feature is exclusive to Premium Plus subscribers. The ad-supported base tiers do not include it.

Premium Plus offers an ad-free experience for $9.99 per month, or $4.99 via Comcast or Cox.

Is Offline Viewing a New Feature?

Peacock, still a young service like Disney+, is catching up to established platforms. Competitors such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video have offered downloads for years.
