PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, rebranded as PUBG: Battlegrounds, requires purchase on PC, unlike its free mobile versions. This has deterred some players, but Krafton is changing that with a limited-time Free Play Week. Following teasers, they've made it official for seven days to attract a broader audience, competing with free-to-play titles like Fortnite and Valorant.
Downloads are exclusive to Steam. Here's a step-by-step guide, plus exclusive events for newcomers.
Head to Steam.
Install Steam if needed, then sign in or create a new account.
Search for "PUBG: Battlegrounds" and click "Play Game."

Complete these missions to unlock exclusive in-game items:

CEST: August 9, 11 p.m. – August 16, 11 p.m.
KST: August 10 at 6:00 a.m. – August 17 at 6:00 a.m.
PUBG officials confirm: "All rewards, including Pass and Mission rewards along with XP and BP, can be acquired. Missions and stats are tracked for progress. Records carry over if you purchase the game later on the same account."
