Stitcher provides access to over 100,000 podcasts and content from 65,000 radio stations, including live broadcasts. Even its core features offer endless discovery for avid listeners.
As a seasoned podcast enthusiast who's tested countless apps, I've uncovered Stitcher’s advanced features that elevate your listening. Here are seven practical tips to unlock its full potential.

If you're like many who juggle “so many podcasts, so little time,” Stitcher’s Listen Later playlist is a game-changer. It acts as your personalized queue for new and favorite episodes.
To add a show, navigate to its details page. Each episode features Listen Now or Listen Later options—select the latter to queue it. Access your playlist via the app’s main menu.

This keeps everything organized in one spot, preventing overwhelm. You can even add in-progress episodes: from the player screen, tap advanced controls on the progress bar and choose Listen Later.
Podcasts often come from multiple sources. Stitcher lets you mark episodes as heard to avoid duplicates, ensuring seamless tracking.
On iOS, long-press the Play/Pause button on any episode in a playlist or show page to mark it. Repeat to unmark if needed.
On Android, tap the menu icon next to an episode title and select Mark Heard.

Log in regularly to sync progress, making Stitcher your central hub alongside other apps.
Beyond Listen Later, My Stations, and Favorites, build tailored playlists. From the main menu, go to My Stations > New Playlist.

Name it descriptively. Add shows by tapping the + next to a title or cover—select or create a playlist on the fly.

Group by theme, like politics or comedy, for effortless browsing.
Wind down with podcasts without draining your battery overnight. Stitcher’s sleep timer auto-stops playback after 15 minutes to 2 hours, or at episode end.
On the Now Playing screen, tap the menu icon (double lines on iOS). Select the clock-with-Zs icon, choose duration, and hit Start Timer.

Ideal for data-conscious users or bedtime routines.
Streamline your routine with App Launch Settings under Settings. Choose your default landing screen to skip extra taps.

Set to Show My Stations for instant access to favorites, or Show Listen Later for pending episodes.
Stitcher’s Alexa skill turns your Echo into a podcast powerhouse. Enable it via the Alexa app, then use voice commands.

Play by episode, season, or say “Alexa, ask Stitcher to play Top Shows.” Navigate with “Alexa, Next” or “Previous.”

Note-taking or slow hosts? Variable speed (0.5x to 2x) adapts to you. From the playbar, tap the menu icon.

Tap the speed indicator repeatedly to adjust; select 1x for normal.
These tips transform Stitcher from basic streamer to personalized powerhouse. Whether via Echo or sleep timer, maximize every session. Rate and review your favorites for better discovery.
