In 2018, seasoned filmmaker, producer, and entertainment executive Dan Mintz acquired full ownership of Valiant Entertainment, building on his existing 57% stake. Mintz brings decades of Hollywood experience, including production credits on blockbusters like Looper (2012) and Iron Man 3 (2013). His track record positions him perfectly to elevate Valiant into mainstream pop culture.
DMG's initial move was Valiant's big-screen launch with Bloodshot, starring Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison. Even before the film's release, Valiant teamed up with Australia's Blowfish Studios for Bloodshot gaming adaptations, which remain in active development.
Another Valiant classic, Omen, is in development under director Justin Tipping, known for Kicks and Nani.
Further films are on the horizon, including X-O Manowar, Shadowman, Archer & Armstrong, and Eternal Warrior, among others.
DMG's ambitions extend beyond cinema to television. Shortly after the acquisition, Mintz announced series based on Quantum and Woody with Getaway Productions and Dr. Mirage with CBS Studios.
While details on a unified cinematic universe across films, TV, and games are emerging, Mintz has emphasized "stronger storytelling with a defined route to other platforms."
He even hinted at theme parks: "I'm thrilled to immerse Valiant fans far beyond cinematic stories—from comics and games to theme parks and beyond."
With the third-largest comic character library (behind only Marvel and DC), DMG has vast IP to craft a cohesive universe and redefine Valiant's place in entertainment.
Mintz has likened Bloodshot to Marvel's Blade—a launchpad for bigger franchises. Just as Blade paved the way for Marvel's success, Bloodshot could do the same for Valiant.
With DMG's $6 billion+ valuation, proven franchises, and Mintz's expertise, the team is primed to dominate the industry.
