Recent reports confirm that PUBG Mobile's global version will cease operations for players in Korea and Japan starting June 30, 2021 (23:59:59). This follows India's earlier ban citing national security concerns.
As a leading battle royale title, PUBG Mobile competes fiercely with Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile. It ranks among the top-grossing games ever, achieving 1 billion downloads by March 2021 and generating $4.3 billion in mobile revenue by December 2020. The game was also nominated for “Esports Game of the Year 2021.”
Residents of Korea and Japan can no longer access the global version after June 30, 2021, but the region-specific KRJP version remains available for seamless play.
Upon launching the global app, players see this official notice:

"To our players in Japan and Korea, due to certain adjustments in PUBG Mobile, starting from June 30th, 2021 (23:59:59), PUBG Mobile will no longer support service in Japan and Korea. Players in Japan and Korea should download the respective regional versions. Thank you for your continued support of PUBG Mobile!"
A convenient download button guides users to the KRJP version:

Conversely, players outside Korea and Japan cannot access the KRJP version. PUBG Mobile Korea developers state these changes ensure optimal service in each region. The KRJP edition offered superior rewards, disappointing some global fans.
