This battle royale hit originated as a PC title before Tencent's mobile adaptation launched globally on March 19, 2018, via Lightspeed & Quantum Studio. By March 2021, it surpassed 1 billion downloads.

Sensor Tower reports PUBG Mobile earned over $299 million in player spending that month—a 26.7% year-over-year increase. Honor of Kings (another Tencent title) ranked second with $231.2 million.

PUBG Mobile has amassed over $1.5 billion lifetime revenue, nearing $2 billion. China (via Game for Peace) drove 68.4%, followed by the US (6.7%) and Turkey (6%). Figures exclude third-party Android stores.

On PC, PUBG ranks as the fifth best-selling game ever with 75 million copies. Krafton's July 25, 2021, press conference highlighted strength in India, the Middle East, and North Africa. miHoYo's Genshin Impact took third; Garena Free Fire, despite growth in banned regions, placed ninth.
Pokémon GO earned $150.4 million, boosted by its GO Fest event. The global mobile market hit $7.6 billion on App Store and Google Play—a 7.2% YoY rise. Other top 10: Roblox, Coin Master, Candy Crush Saga, Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Three Kingdoms Tactics.
