Fortnite partnered with TIME Studios for the March Through Time event, immersing players in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech and the historic March on Washington.
Unfortunately, player misconduct prompted Epic Games to swiftly disable most emotes to curb toxicity during the event.

The experience, crafted by creators ChaseJackman, GQuanoe, XWDFr, and YU7A, transports players to a recreated 1963 Washington, D.C. While innovative, the event highlighted challenges in using gaming for education, as some players used emotes disrespectfully during the speech.

Concerned community members shared Twitter videos of inappropriate emotes and even racist remarks like "Thank God we're finally free" near segregated tabs. In response, Epic disabled nearly all emotes, sparing just a few for the MLK event. This decisive action underscores that the Fortnite community isn't yet ready for such sensitive in-game content.
