1. The morning show

The Morning Show was Apple's flagship title when it launched Apple TV+. And who is surprised? It stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell – all showing off their acting skills with spectacular performances. Although it may take a few episodes to get going, The Morning Show turns into a gripping drama.

It introduces us to the cast and crew of a morning news show just as it all unravels when one of the hosts is fired for sexual misconduct. Jennifer Aniston's character stays on air, but then she must fight to stay relevant alongside a feisty new co-host.

2. For all mankind

The premise behind this show is simple:what if the Russians had won the space race? It wouldn't have looked good for the United States, that's for sure. For All Mankind officials believe this could have led NASA to take greater risks in order to prove itself on the world stage.

Set in an alternate history, For All Mankind follows historical figures and family members at the heart of NASA operations during this time. It follows the NASA program over the next few years, bringing together the hard work of the entire team for a gripping finale.

3. Dickinson

Emily Dickinson was a prolific nineteenth-century poet and rebel. This half-hour comedy-drama highlights her various escapades as Emily frustrates those around her in search of the independence she craves.

The show is inventive and visually splendid, with poetry burning on the screen as Emily pens it on scraps of paper. It's an invigorating watch and a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a great writer.

4. Defend Jacob

Based on the novel of the same name, Defending Jacob follows the Barber family after Andy and Laurie's son, Jacob, is framed for the murder of his classmate. The situation is further complicated by the fact that Andy was originally assigned to investigate the matter.

This dark show is dark, well-paced, and filled with twists and turns. It begs you to ask if you could suspect your own children of such atrocities. Sure, Jacob seems quirky, but can he really be a murderer?

5. Home before dark

Hilde Lisko is a journalist investigating an unsolved murder in her new town. She's also a nine-year-old girl. This show is loosely based on the life of Hilde Lysiak; it's an entertaining drama brought to life by the impressive performance of its young star.

A production credit from M. Night Shyamalan is no guarantee of quality that it once was. Nonetheless, Servant is a chilling, mysterious, well-acted drama that's beautifully shot. Each half-hour episode finds a way to be deeply unsettling while drawing you in even more.

7. Trying

Nikki and Jason are trying for a baby. But when complications make it seem like an impossible scenario, they turn to adoption instead. This means that they must first settle their lives. They may be in their thirties, but that doesn't mean they have it all together.

8. Mythic Quest:The Crow's Banquet

But the creative director is a self-absorbed child, the lead engineer is chronically underappreciated, and the executive producer is sadly unable to handle all of these larger-than-life personalities.

As you'd expect from a show made by the creators of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest is hilarious off the wall. But it also offers some notable dramatic moments in the form of a flashback episode and a special quarantine.

If you're looking for the best TV shows to watch during lockdown, Mythic Quest:Raven's Banquet is a good option.
